Don Watershed Regeneration

Cities are the frontier of environmentalism

This website was first put up in August of 1995 when the web was new and information scarce. I have not been actively updating it since the end of 1999, It still contains information that could be of historical interest to many. For more current sites check out the many Don Groups

The Don River flows through the centre of my city Toronto. It's a small river without spectacular and rare plants or mammals, great views or magnificent waterfalls. Like most urban rivers, it has been abused and is quite ugly in parts. But it also has a surprising reservoir of natural places and a great cultural history.

The act of regenerating the urban rivers near our own homes, teaches us about nature, water, land and community.
